  • resident (n.)A person who lives in a particular placeThe residents of that house have lived there for over twenty years.
    rental fee (n.)
    (also 'rent')
    A certain amount of money paid by the tenant to the owner or landlord, usually every month
    The landlord collects the rental fee from the tenant every month.
    deposit (n.)
    Money paid before moving in that acts as insurance against damagesThe rental deposit can be refunded when you move out.
    rental period (n.)
    An agreed-on amount of time that the tenant will live on the owner's propertyThe rental period for this apartment is at least one year.
    rental agreement (n.)
    A contract between the owner and the tenant that shows the rental fee, rental period, and other rules the tenant must followI have an appointment with a real estate agent to sign the rental agreement tomorrow morning.
    move in (phr. v.)
    To take all your belongings to a new property and arrange them inside the new propertyWe are moving in to our new house this weekend.
    move out (phr. v.)To pack and take all your belongings out of the property so that the property is emptyThe house will be available once the current tenant has moved out.
