By or At with Passive Causatives
- Add a by phrase or an at phrase at the end of passive causative sentences for more information. By phrases show who did the action and at phrases* show where the action took place.subject + passive causative + by phrase/at phrase-I got my car fixed by the best mechanic in town.-She had her makeup done at the Sugar & Spice Spa.*Be careful! Only use at phrases for a specific location. You can use other prepositions of place as necessary.-She had her purse stolen in London.
