Adverbs
- Adverbs are words that modify other adverbs, adjectives, or verbs. They answer how (much/often), when, where, or why in a sentence.Adverbs have many different options for positions in a sentence.-I slowly walked home. (Slowly shows how)-Lisa drives very carefully. (Very shows how carefully)-Sometimes, Cindy cooks dinner. (Sometimes shows how often)-My sister visited me* yesterday. (Yesterday shows when)-Wait here until I call your name. (Here shows where)*Remember! Never put an adverb between a verb and its direct object.-My sister visited me yesterday.-
