• Adjectives Ending with -ing

• Other adjectives end in -ing. These adjectives usually describe what causes an emotion. You can use these adjectives for people, animals, and things.

  
  

  Most -ing adjectives are also based on a verb. The -ing form of an adjective is usually the same as the present participle form of a verb.

  
  

  verb + -ing = adjective

  bore + -ing = boring

  The class is boring.

  
  

  Remember! Always follow normal spelling rules for adjectives based on verbs (remove final -e, double consonants, etc.).
