- Use the present perfect continuous for recent actions that have results in the present. The action may or may not continue in the present. This use focuses on the action and its connection to the present.-I have been cooking all day and the sink is* full of dirty dishes.(This person started cooking in the morning. They might still be cooking or they might have stopped recently. The result of the action is a sink full of dirty dishes.)
