Continuing Actions
- Use the present perfect continuous for actions that started in the past and are still continuing in the present.-I have been learning a new language.(I started learning in the past and am still learning now.)For actions that have continued for a period of time (hours, days, weeks, months, etc.) use for with present perfect continuous.present perfect continuous + for + period of time-I have been dating Rachel for two years.For actions that started at a specific point in time (a time, a day, a month, a year, etc.) use since with present perfect continuous.present perfect continuous + since + specific point in time-We have been dating since January.

We have been living in London for five years. I have been thinking about proposing for a long time. I have been working here since last summer. Elizabeth has been living in Bangkok since 2015.
