Present Perfect with Since and For

  • Present Perfect with Since and For

  • Read and listen. Listen again and repeat.
  • We can also use the present perfect tense for actions that started in the past and continue in the present.

    Two common words that connect the past and present are since and for.

    Use since to show a specific time an action started.
    -My friend has studied English since 2020.

    Use for to show the length of time since an action started.
    -My friend has studied English for two years.
