Adverbs of Time

  • Adverbs of Time

  • You can use adverbs of time with the past perfect to connect two different times in the past.
    • Already
    • Yet
    • By
    • Use already when an action happened earlier than expected.

      The train had already left when he arrived.
      When he arrived, the train had left already.

      Remember! You can use already between the auxiliary verb (had) and the main verb OR at the end of the sentence.
