  • Add that to so or such to explain the result of a situation.

    The weather was so awful that we decided not to go out.
    -Situation: The weather was so awful. 
    -Result: We decided not to go out.

    It was such a hot day that I drank ten bottles of water.
    -Situation: It was such a hot day.
    -Result: I drank ten bottles of water.
