Noun Clauses as the Subject
- A noun clause can function as the subject of a sentence. Remember, the subject is who or what performs the action of the verb.Noun clause = relative pronoun + subject + verb- What Megan said made her friends laugh.Be careful! Megan is not the subject of this sentence. Megan did not make her friends laugh (the action). It was what Megan said that made her friends laugh. Ask yourself: What made Megan's friends laugh? What Megan said.
