- Time clauses show a relationship between two actions/events. You cannot use time clauses alone. They always have a main clause.
- I will call you when I get home.-When I get home = time clause-I will call you = main clause
- Some common time clause words are:-when-after-before-until
Do your homework before the lesson starts. I will do my homework after dinner. When I get home, I will call you.* There is a tornado warning until 5:00 o'clock. - *Remember! You can use time clauses at the beginning of a sentence. Use a comma (,) after the time clause.When I get home, I will call you. = I will call you when I get home.
