Simple Past Tense
- Use the past simple tense for actions that happened before the present time. The past simple has regular and irregular verbs.ㅤPAST <--------- NOWㅤJohn visited France last year.
Regular and Irregular Past Tense Verbs
- Regular past tense are verbs that end with -ed.pack + -ed = packedSome verbs have special spelling rules with -ed.love + -d = loved (add -d)plan + -ed = planned (double the final consonant)carry + -ed = carried (change -y to -i)
- Some verbs are irregular in the past tense.Do NOT add -ed to irregular verbs.
