Present Perfect and Present Perfect Questions in English

 Present Perfect 

• Present perfect shows actions in the past without a specific time. Use present perfect with have/has and a past participle.

  
  

  Use the present perfect for:

  -indefinite times in the past

  -recent events/news
• I have visited Japan many times.

  A  new train station has opened in London.

  
  

  Add not in negative statements.

  I have not visited New Zealand.

  I haven't visited New Zealand.

• Present Perfect Questions

• Ask yes/no questions with have/has and a past participle.

  
  

  Has Joey eaten dinner? 

  Yes, he has.

  No, he has not./No, he hasn't.
• Use wh-words for information questions.

  
  

  Where have you lived? 

  I have lived in France and Germany.
