Phrasal Verbs & Direct Object Pronouns in English Language

  • Phrasal Verbs & Direct Object Pronouns

  • Read and listen. Listen again and repeat.
  • Direct object pronouns ALWAYS go in the middle of a separable phrasal verb
    Pick the toys up. (Direct object = toys)
    Pick them up. (Direct object pronoun = them)

    NEVER place the direct object pronoun after a separablephrasal verb.
    Pick up them
  • Josh, your room is dirty. Clean it up after school. There is trash on the floor. Please pick it up.
    I can't hear the music on the radio, can you turn it upPlease wash the dishes and put them away.
