• Read and listen. Listen again and repeat.

• Direct object pronouns ALWAYS go in the middle of a separable phrasal verb. 

  - Pick the toys up. (Direct object = toys)

  - Pick them up. (Direct object pronoun = them)

  
  

  NEVER place the direct object pronoun after a separablephrasal verb.

  - Pick up them

• Josh, your room is dirty. Clean it up after school.	There is trash on the floor. Please pick it up.
  I can't hear the music on the radio, can you turn it up?	Please wash the dishes and put them away.
