• Past Continuous: Specific Time

• 
• Use the past continuous for an action or event that happened before and after a specific time in the past.

  
  

  -I was working at 3:00 PM.  

  (The action started before 3:00 PM and continues after.) 

  
  

  -I worked at 3:00 PM.  

  (The action started at 3:00 PM.)

• I was reading at nine o'clock.	At 6:00 PM, Roy was taking a shower.
  Joe was wrapping gifts at midnight.	They were eating lunch one hour ago.*

• *Remember! A specific time is NOT always a time on the clock (9:00, midnight); it can also be a specific point in time (one hour ago, a few minutes ago).
